Gary Bauer, Founder of Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation Bus, On Entrepreneurship & Green Business
Gary Bauer, Founder of Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation Bus, speaks with Maya Gorton, envisionGood.tv’s SF Field Producer, at West Coast Green Conference in San Francisco, about how he got started with his business of green buses that serve Silicon Valley and beyond. Starting out sharing a car with some friends, Gary saw business potential when he observed the wasteful back and forth of hotel shuttles from the airport. He now manages a fleet of luxury buses with Wi-Fi that are used by companies like Google, eBay, and Yahoo! to shuttle employees back and forth to the city while helping to reduce traffic (and carbon dioxide) from the already crowded roads.
Gary’s Wi-Drive service (pronounced “Why Drive?”) even lets you sign up for a seat online – unlike the school bus where the first to get picked up always gets the best seat! Listen in to hear Gary’s insider tips on entrepreneurship, including to: 1) focus on today (not yesterday), 2) have a plan, and 3) recruit good people and delegate. Thanks for sharing your insights, Gary. And thank you to West Coast Green for hosting this fantastic event!
