TEDxSoMa - Ideas Worth Spreading - San Francisco

January 2010 | TEDxSoMa | Heather Fleming, Catapult Design: “The golden rule of design: empathy.”

In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading”, TED has created a program called TEDx, that gives communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to share a TED-like experience at the local level.

TEDxSoMa, the TEDx community located in San Francisco’s SoMa district, organized their kick-off event in January 2010 with a line-up of 12 phenomenal speakers and the aim to bring people together to connect and share innovative ideas and dialogue.

A testament to the power of the TED brand, as well as to the strong interest for a TED-like local gathering, eighty thinkers and doers from the San Francisco Bay Area attended the live program, and an additional 400,000 viewers from around the world tuned in via the live webcast: impressive results for TEDxSoMa’s debut.

As big fans of TED and TEDTalks, we are thrilled to be a media sponsor of TEDxSoMa and support their upcoming event, titled “Interactivity and the Digital Future”, which will take place next Friday, May 21st at Parisoma’s Innovation Loft.

We will be featuring the live stream of TEDxSoMa’s event here on envisionGood on May 21st – so be sure to mark your calendar and visit us or go directly to TEDxSoMa to join the live webcast.
