Leila Chirayath Janah, Founder of Samasource, on Computers & Jobs in Dadaab Refugee Camp, Kenya [VIDEO]
Social entrepreneur Leila Chirayath Janah, founded Samasource in 2008 to bring computer-based training to people living in poverty in Africa and India. In this video interview, Leila tells us about Dadaab Refugee Camp on the border of Kenya and Somalia, where almost 300,000 people live in a camp built for only 90,000. Leila also shares the story of Samasource’s pilot program which trained sixteen youth to start providing online computer work.
To call attention to the state of emergency at Dadaab Refugee Camp in Kenya, actress and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie also recently visited Dadaab just last month. More information on Jolie’s visit, as well as on info of what’s happening on the ground at Dadaab can be found at this link.
Samasource is a phenomenal organization, making a difference in a big way for refugees living in Dadaab Refugee Camp. We are big fans of Samasource at envisionGood.tv and hope you will spread the word about the great work they are doing. Thanks!
